Unless I’m missing the sarcasm I guess I can understand the enthusiasm for its return if you’re a particularly rabid fan of what I call aggro-culture, aka: aggressively invasive non-native plant life. But I for one (or two) am neither happy to see arundo reclaiming its space nor am I surprised it is doing so so quickly.
