Ms. Molina, an elected official, made a subjective judgement that the final product of this project was inappropriate. I do not know her rationale for going after Friends of the River, as that was not mentioned in the article. In terms of her being the arbiter of what is appropriate artwork, I think that is a good thing. She was, afterall, elected to her position. somebody has to make the call. And, in my view, a pig smoking marijuana is not exactly the kind of art that will appeal to the masses. It is certainly not what I would like to see adorning our cement lined river.
